NERC launches Planet Earth online
The Natural Environment Research Council launched an online news site, Planet Earth online, on Monday 29 September. It contains news, features, blogs and podcasts from across the NERC community. It is aimed at the general public, students, researchers, government and people interested in environmental science. See www.nerc.ac.uk/planetearth for details.

In Progress: Water Resources ERANET Projects
Integrated Water Resource Management-Net (IWRM-net), a European ERANET which includes both the Environment Agency and SNIFFER, is linking research programmes on water management. In June the consortium agreed to fund three trans-national research projects totalling about €2·3m. The Environment Agency is coordinating one of these projects 'Forecaster'. The other two projects are RIPFLOW and I-Five. For further information please visit the IWRM-net website.
