Monitoring database resources
The ERFF monitoring database created in MS Access for the 2006 ERFF review of UK monitoring activities would be difficult for the non-expert user to interrogate. As a short-term measure to enable ERFF members and others to access the information it contains, the content of the database has been transferred into an Excel workbook, and some explanatory information has been provided on a separate sheet of the workbook to help users to find and interpret the information. The workbook can be downloaded from this site after registering. The layout of the data sheet does not provide a very easy means of viewing all the information about a particular activity, but the standard Excel facilities for filtering should allow users to identify activities meeting their criteria of interest. Workstream 2 of the UK-EOF will provide a replacement for the ERFF monitoring database which will give greatly improved facilities via a directly-searchable online service. Note that the current ERFF monitoring database does not contain information about marine monitoring activities, but that the new UK-EOF environmental observation database is intended to include both marine and non-marine observation activities.
